Set in well established and partially walled gardens which run down directly to the banks of the River Wye, The Bridge at Wilton is a truly idyllic location in which to unwind and take a well deserved break. The Bridge is a proud Georgian Country house with a wonderful atmosphere that will make you feel at home the second you walk through the door. Here you will discover beautifully appointed en-suite rooms, several restaurant areas, plus adjoining bar and conservatory areas in which to enjoy the famous views across the river to Ross-on-Wye.
Accommodation is presented in eight delightful bedrooms appointed as you would expect, with en-suite bathrooms, t.v. and telephone, together with broadband internet access on request. Each room offers a seamless blend of classic furniture alongside contemporary design to create a welcoming environment of true character.
The Bridge's Michelin Guide recommended and AA rosette-rated restaurant has a solid base of regular diners from Ross-on-Wye and around Herefordshire, as well as attracting gourmet food hunters from around the country. Chef James Arbourne creates unique, exciting and truly imaginative dishes using the best seasonal ingredients sourced locally - some are even picked fresh daily from our own fruit, vegetable and herb gardens here at The Bridge. The menu changes monthly according to what produce is currently at it's best, in keeping with James's commitment to the use of only the best produce from Herefordshire and its surrounding areas. Equal pride is also taken in offering a fine selection of wines and apèritifs that are the perfect accompaniment to the fresh, imaginative and truly wonderful food that's served daily in this highly acclaimed restaurant. For pre and post dinner relaxation, the Bridge has its own widely-stocked bar which is adorned with original artwork by local artists and is a great place to unwind after a long day. In the summer, enjoy drinks out in the gardens, which slope gently down the river, like a scene from a picture book.
With The Bridge as your base, you could soon find yourself enjoying the area whether on foot, on the water, or even in the air! This area of the Wye Valley has ample opportunity for golf enthusiasts, as well as being a real find for keen walkers and explorers on foot or horseback. Take to the water, canoeing or simply enjoy a relaxing boat ride in the sunshine. In the summer evenings, hot air balloon flights take to the skies launching from the banks of the River Wye.
You will also be but a stone's throw from so many interesting places to visit. Symonds Yat, where the river carves itself through the rock and forest, is not to be missed. Boat cruises, a treat for walkers, and a great place to either canoe or watch the more adventurous take on the rapids. You can always simply sit back and enjoy a quiet drink.
Goodrich Castle, the Royal Forest of Dean, Cheltenham with its fantastic architecture and shopping. Just a ten minute drive over the border into Wales - so much to enjoy. How much or little you do is up to you. But you won't find a better, more friendly place to enjoy it all from than The Bridge at Wilton.
