The Wilton Court Hotel has three AA stars and two rosettes with 80% merit score awarded by both the AA and Visit Wales.
Embracing its 16th century origins, distinctive architecture and marvellous riverside hotel location in Ross on Wye, today the Wilton Court Hotel brings added colour to the Elizabethan building thanks to an intriguing collection of decorative curios and objects d`art collected by the owners, Helen and Roger Wynn from their time living and working in the Far East.
The owners have stamped their combined experience of the hotel world on this enchanting ten bedroom riverside hotel in Ross on Wye. This has set Wilton Court in a league of its own to visitors of Herefordshire and Ross on Wye, seeking a stylish and relaxing weekend or a short break with great value for money.
Seasonally changing menus are served in the Mulberry restaurant for dinner, Monday through Saturday and for a traditional Sunday lunch. Whilst The Wilton Bar is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, serving both a table d`hote menu and ala carte menu at lunchtimes and the Mulberry Restaurant menu in the evenings. A childrens selection and vegetarian options are always available. The restaurant seats 50 diners on two levels and has two tables on the lower level for guests requiring wheelchair access. The stylish conservatory opens onto a walled garden with a three hundred year old Mulberry tree, that gives the resturant its name.
The chefs at Wilton Court pride themselves on using the finest local produce from primarily Hereford and neighbouring counties Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire when specific ingredients need to be sourced from further afield. This has resulted in the hotel being a finalist in the Restaurant category of the Flavours of Herefordshire for the past five years and Highly Commended for Restaurant and Breakfast categories in 2007 as well as two rosettes awarded by the AA. The hotels menus highlight prominently the local suppliers and producers.
All ten of the hotel’s en-suite bedrooms overlook either the river or the gardens and are complete with modern facilities. The majority of the rooms have either king or super king beds. Each room is individually decorated and reflects a warmth of character with either William Morris or Sanderson wall papers and fabrics. Beams and fireplaces dating from the 16th century have been exposed in the original part of the building which was formerly the Magistrates Court in the 1500s.
All bedrooms are provided with an abundance of accompanying touches (Kimonos, fluffy towels, mineral water and generous toiletries). WiFi wireless internet access is available in all rooms, as are DVD players and free view televisions.
At Wilton Court every last detail has been considered and perfected to ensure an utterly flawless leisure break experience.
