Langtry Manor has a completely unique history and was built in 1877 by Edward VII for his mistress Lillie Langtry. One hundred years later it was purchased by Pamela Hamilton-Howard who is still actively involved with the running of the hotel with her daughter Tara. The Langtry Lodge was the former home of Lord Derby. It is older than the Manor and where Lillie and Edward stayed when the Manor was being built. In the early 1980's the Lodge became part of the Hotel (just 50 yards away from the Manor).

A twenty minute stroll from the hotel brings one into the heart of Bournemouth and the cosmopolitan town centre to experience world class shopping, museums and galleries, theatres and theme parks or dynamic nightclubs and wine bars for the more energetic. There is also the Bournemouth International Centre, making Langtry Manor the ideal venue for hotel conferences or a business respite and regenerative evening haven.

Edwardian elegance enhanced with contemporary style best describes the bedrooms presented here. Traditional furnishings with a modern twist enhance the seclusion and privacy and contribute to the character of excellence pervading the hotel. The undeniable elegance of the manor rooms is irrepressible; as is the sense of romance conjured up by the up-to-date, yet traditional decor that is ubiquitous in the drapes, plants, illustrations and almost tangible memories of Edwardian aristocratic society.

Langtry’s restaurant serves contemporary cuisine while keeping it's decor with the traditions of King Edward's and preparing a menu of unique and flavourful specialties that cater to the more discerning palate of today’s visitors. Serving regional specialties of unparalleled taste, Langtrys is highly praised for its menu and also for its atmosphere. You can select from creative and tasty appetisers, mouthwatering entrées made only from the freshest ingredients and decadent specialty desserts created exclusively for Langtrys by Christopher Corbett. A sublime dining experience, Langtrys piques your senses with a stunning décor of which King Edward himself would be impressed. From the minstrel's gallery and stained glass windows to the period chandeliers and sixteenth century hand-woven tapestries, your fireside dining experience at Langtrys is sure to impress.

Although rich in history, the hotel offers present day guests the best of modern facilities (and carefully disguised personal bars beneath amply sized LCD flat screen televisions) along with a complementary state-of-the-art leisure centre just two minutes walk away.

In a country packed with over 10,000 hotels, very occasionally you stumble on a rare gem of an hotel where the building, food, service and history, blend to form something quite exceptional. This warm inviting Manor House is not only steeped in history and romance, but offers the highest standard of any luxury accommodation in Bournemouth. A fact attested to by Langtry Manor being named Best Hotel in Bournemouth by The Guardian.

Drinks purchases are counted towards your minimum spend per person per night at Langtry Manor.
