Secluded and away from the noise of traffic, The Garrack Hotel stands in two acres with breathtaking views over Porthmeor beach, St.Ives, the sweep of St. Ives Bay and the Atlantic beyond. Situated between town and country, within fifteen minutes' walk to the beaches and picturesque harbour to the north-east and cliffs and coastal footpath to the north-west.

In summer it is a welcome haven from the hustle and bustle of a popular tourist town and an ideal base to explore the area.In winter, it is a cosy retreat, with log fires, and a country house charm, reminiscent of the gentleman's residence that it once was. Family owned and run by the Kilby's since 1965, The Garrack is a place of comfort and traditional hospitality, for you to eat well, sleep soundly, leave relaxed… and hopefully, to return..

The ivy-clad granite house was completed in 1923 as a small gentleman's residence. The Hotel was established in 1948. In September 1965, the Hotel was purchased by John & Frances Kilby and the Hotel is now run by the second generation, their sons Michael & Stephen (& Frances being retired). During the 40yrs of Kilby ownership, the hotel has been extended, leisure facilities added and continually upgraded, to maintain ever increasing standards. The lounge areas have real fires and comfy chairs and have always been after dinner ‘chat rooms’ in the original sense. A small very well stocked bar which specialises in Gins, Malts & Wine. Wi Fi is available in the reception area and small hotel bar area. A PC is available for emails and internet use for guests without their laptops. The award winning restaurant is open to non-residents and the indoor pool operates as a small leisure club for local residents.

Accommodation is offered within eighteen individually styled bedrooms, each with private bathroom, TV, beverage making facilities and direct dial telephone with baby monitoring. The majority have an Atlantic Ocean view and a view of St Ives and Bay. First floor bedrooms have been styled to reflect the character and charm of the original granite house The sea facing lower ground floor wing has a variety of modern and adaptable accommodation including some suitable for families. Rooms have either twin, double or super king size beds. Two garden rooms in the cottage annexe with ocean views, can either be let seperately or as adjoining rooms. There are three rooms on the ground floor with level access to all public rooms and suitable for those with mobility difficulties (one has been designed with a wheelchair user in mind

For that special occasion, we have a number of rooms with enhanced features, such as four poster bed, 1/2 tester bed, whirlpool or air bath.

Contemporary and creative British dining using fresh local ingredients. Prepared on the premises with Celtic, Gaelic, English and world influences. In daylight the restaurant has garden and sea views overlooking St Ives. Décor is light and airy, blending traditional with contemporary elements to create a relaxing ambience, suitable for most dining occasions. Dress code is smart casual. The wine list includes over 70 labels from 10 different regions, which includes Camel Valley Cornish wines (on merit). The unique fixed mark-up pricing policy offers exceptional value for the better quality wines. The restaurant has gained numerous awards over the years and remains as one of the leading dining venues in St.Ives.
