Located at the very heart of the beautiful medieval town of Buckingham, Villiers is a magnificent hotel steeped in history which still retains its ancient cobbled courtyard. In the 18th century one hundred horses were stabled here, when the hotel was known as ´The White Swan Posting House´, ready for long distance stagecoaches. During your stay here you will be treated to four star luxury within exquisite bedrooms, suites and family rooms, a fabulous friendly bar, superb AA rosette awarded restaurant and comfortable lounges.

Villiers has one hundred and forty six individually designed bedrooms, all benefitting from full en suite facilities, offering spacious luxury with all the four star facilities that one would expect of a top class hotel. Premium rooms also offer air-conditioning, a printer & fax machine and fridges are stocked with complimentary soft drinks. Family rooms are air-conditioned and feature two adjacent bedrooms linked by a hallway. All have en-suite bathrooms. There are four luxury suites - three with stunning galleried bedrooms overlooking the private lounge dining areas and all feature jet spa baths. Twenty four hour room service is available for all bedrooms and suites.

Villiers AA rosette awarded restaurant and bar offers superb dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Here you will enjoy tantalising dishes created with the finest ingredients and fresh local produce in the recently refurbished restaurant. Fresh fish and vegetarian options are always available. In addition, a range of succulent traditional roasts are offered for Sunday Lunch.

The bar maintains its traditional 18th century heritage with real ales as well as a superb range of wines and spirits. Food is available in the bar from 12 noon through until 9.30 pm every day.

Buckingham means literally ‘the land of Bucca’s people in the bend of the river’. The small Saxon village was erected in 914AD through the fortification of a castle during the war against the Danes. The campaign was successful, leaving the castle redundant and Buckingham a trading centre for the region.

In the 16th century Buckingham gained a new charter to elect a corporation and hold courts to govern the market. During the civil war the town also played host to the King and his army for a week in 1644.

In the 19th century a canal and branch railway line were constructed. Despite this the town ceased to expand, allowing it to keep its unique charm and culture that remain attractive to artists and visitors today.

Villiers Hotel is ideally situated for visits to many places of interest. Here are just some ideas: Blenheim Palace, Bicester Shopping Village, Bletchley Park, Claydon House, Gullivers Land and Eco Park, Milton Keynes Shopping Centre, MK Dons Football Stadium, Silverstone Motor Racing Circuit, Stowe School & Landscaped Gardens, Towcester Racecourse, Waddesdon Manor and Woburn Abbey.
