In the historic south-west corner of the Cotswolds, high above Stroud on the wilds of Rodborough Common, stands the handsome Bear of Rodborough Hotel. Originally built in the 17th century, this former coaching inn provided a much appreciated resting-place on the main coaching route from Gloucester to London. To this day it offers a warm welcome to all.

Set in three hundred acres of National Trust land, the Bear of Rodborogh Hotel provides a luxurious retreat where you can enjoy fine food and drink while relaxing in a homely and friendly atmosphere.

An inspired location for country breaks at any time of the year, the Bear of Rodborough Hotel is ideal as a centre for country walks, visits to historic sites, a trip to the races or as a business venue. The nearby towns (Bath, Cirencester & Tetbury) and villages are famous for their wealth and variety of antique shops - all in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The bedrooms here add a touch of elegance and individuality to your stay being uniquely styled in warm inviting colours, with attention to detail in every bedroom. There are panoramic views over Rodborough Common and the beautiful Woodchester Valley. The rooms are equipped with flat-screen television, direct-dial telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Double and twin-bedded rooms are available, some of which have traditional four-poster or half-tester beds. The adjoining Woodchester House has modern comfortable executive rooms with large well lit workspaces ideally suited to business clients.

Dining is always a real treat; with chef consistently tantalising the taste buds with his imaginative culinary creations in the acclaimed Box Tree Restaurant. Superb wines from an extensive list are the perfect accompaniment. Having developed close links with local providers, the Box Tree Restaurant are able to source the finest in meats, fish, cheese, vegetables and fruit.
