Christine and William Reeve-Tucker have owned and personally run the Hotel and Restaurant since 1987, they are justifiably proud of their food and service. Glewstone Court has received numerous awards and accolades over the years and is set amongst fruit orchards in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the Wye Valley. The hotel is ideally situated for countryside pursuits such as touring and exploring, horse-riding, canoeing or golf, or to simply provide the perfect relaxing break.
The unique character of this delightful hotel is perfectly reflected in its rooms... polished floors, eastern rugs, open log fires and antiques abound. All the ensuite bedrooms are individual in style and decor and come equipped with all the extras one would expect ...fluffy bathrobes, toiletries, hairdryers, TV, radio, telephone and hospitality tray.
Herefordshire is a county of rolling hills, rambling river valleys and lush green grass. For generations farming has been the main “industry” of the county and the hotel is well placed to be able to obtain so much fresh local produce. All beef, lamb, fowl and pork are sourced through two of the best commercial butchers, Neil Powell of Eywas Harold and RE Williams & Sons of Weobley, as well as Cornwall Family Butchers in Ross-on-Wye, all of whom buy from local farms and markets.
During the season Sarah Snell’s Treberva Farm Shop in Much Birch (well worth a visit) supplies soft fruit and veg and there is a host of people with small holdings and gardens who supply the hotel with fruit, veg and herbs as well as game from local shoots in season.
The annual “Flavours of Herefordshire” awards, now in its tenth year, recognises quality and excellence in the food and drink that is served and produced in Herefordshire and nearby. Glewstone Court has been a finalist every year- this year for Breakfast of the Year, restaurant of the Year and Young Chef of the Year with Tom Piper the hotel’s second Chef. The hotel ethos is to provide you with local produce, lovingly prepared, cooked with passion and beautifully presented.
