The Maids Head Hotel is a popular hotel in the heart of Norwich city centre, located opposite the famous Norman Cathedral, making it the perfect place to stay when visiting this historic city. The Maids Head Hotel itself dates back to the 13th century. Originally owned by the early Bishops in the day of William the Conqueror, it is rumoured that in 1587 Elizabeth I slept here. But to be more up to date, The Maids Head Hotel is proud to announce its recent 4 star status and that it is the winner of the Norfolk Tourism Awards, Hotel of the Year 2008.
Accommodation here is presented in a total of eighty four bedrooms which have been designed and furnished in a warm welcoming style and offer a comfortable and well-equipped retreat at the end of the day. The AA rosette awarded Courtyard Restaurant offers you the opportunity to indulge yourself with fine a la carte dining in a warm and welcoming relaxed ambience in truly historical surroundings. The a la carte menu changes regularly in conjunction with seasonal produce, incorporating our abundance of fine local Norfolk produce. The Chefs take great pride in creating mouthwatering dishes with a twist with an aim to gain Rosette status in the near future.
For pre and post dinner drinks guests can take a step back in time at The Maids Head Bar, Norwich's oldest serving bar. This Jacobean bar is a real treat and exudes charm and character. Sample a fine wine, local beer or whisky in this cosy snug bar or sample our lounge bar menu.
For a more contemporary bar, you can enjoy The Yard Bar, a chic and up- beat bar offering a Tapas menu, quirky cocktails and fine wines.
