As the hotel name suggests, this is a Mecca for golfers… Lahinch Championship Golf Course has undoubtedly one of the world's great classic links. It has all the ingredients of greatness: a glorious setting, a rich history, superb natural terrain and, here man has 'intervened', it has been through the hand of an outstanding architect. It also has a pair of notorious blind holes, a ruined castle and goats that roam freely on the dunes. Often referred as the Saint Andrews of Ireland it has a multitude of challenging golf holes. It hosts the South of Ireland Amateur Golf Championship annually. This course should be on every golfer’s itinerary.
The Castle Course is located just opposite the Championship Course and although it is not as tough as the Championship Course nevertheless it still presents a challenge with cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards making it an enjoyable experience. Doonbeg Golf Course
