The Lansdowne Strand Hotel is located at the gateway to the Wiltshire Downs in the picturesque market town of Calne. It is an ideal base for exploring the Downs or touring around to attractions such as Longleat House and Safari Park, Avebury Rings, Westonbirt Arboretum or the historic city of Bath.
This historic hotel, a grade 2 listed building, was built in the 16th century as an important coaching inn, and was also home to a local brewery for a time. The courtyard still has its medieval brew house. The hotel is located on the A4, just 15 minutes from the M4 in this delightful Wiltshire market town.
With twenty six rooms, all of which are en suite, two function rooms, two bars and a bistro, the Lansdowne is a wonderful place to eat, drink and be merry, with enticing open fires in the winter just calling for visitors to linger in the bar over a meal and a pint of real ale.
