Clachan Cottage Hotel enjoys a most idyllic position being situated in the village of Lochearnhead, on the shores of Lochearn in one of the most stunning areas of the Scottish Highlands. Boasting its own jetty and mooring facilities, guests here can enjoy taking part or watching a host of water sports. Or for the less inclined, sit back, relax and simply while away the time taking in the wonderful views over Loch Earn towards Ben Vorlich and Glen Ample.

Accommodation at this most delightful hotel is presented in twenty-one, very spacious and tastefully decorated bedrooms. Each room is fully en suite and enjoys a range of modern amenities including; tea & coffee making facilities, colour televisions and direct dial telephones.

After a day out enjoying the many activities on offer in this area, when it’s time to dine the hotel’s award winning Chef will welcome you to the restaurant which overlooks the loch. Here, accompanied by wonderful views you will enjoy an excellent selection of dishes with both Scottish and International influences. All being created and carefully prepared using the freshest produce from the finest local suppliers to make traditional Scottish recipes - including venison, chicken and haggis, Cullen skink, clootie dumplings. For pre and post dinner drink there is always a warm welcome in the lounge bar that looks out over the loch.

When it comes to activities available from Clachan Hotel, it is difficult to know where to start!

For golfers, the hotel is ideally situated for a multitude of golfing venues all of which are within easy reach.

There is first class waterskiing for both the enthusiastic amateur and experienced skiers and the hotel has its our own private slipway with boat launching facilities and private moorings. There is also excellent canoeing and sailing.

As there are around forty Munros within a one hour drive of the hotel, this is a hill walker, and hill climber's paradise! Ben Vorlich is the nearest Munro, which dominates the skyline looking out to the front of the Hotel.

Excellent cycling is also on offer on The Lowland Highland Trail, part of National Cycle Network Route 7, running between Killin in the northeast and Drymen in the south, via Glen Ogle, Lochearnhead, Strathyre, Callander, Aberfoyle and Gartmore. The route uses forest tracks, traffic-free trails and minor roads and is regarded as one of the highlights of the National Cycle Network.

The Clachan Cottage Hotel also welcomes fishermen, fishing groups, and angler's clubs. Fishing is permitted off the shore of the hotel or alternatively you can hire boats from the Drummond Estate and fish most of the 6.5 miles of the Loch. Boat hire is around £30 for 8 hours and permits are £8.

Loch Earn is teeming with brown trout and also hosts some rainbow trout, artic charr, grayling and an occasional salmon. About 10,000 trout are put into Loch Earn each year and the largest rainbow trout caught in 2006 was 10lbs 8oz.
