The Huntly Arms Hotel is set in the picturesque village of Aboyne, surrounded by the beautiful Cairngorms Park and just a stone’s throw from the River Dean. Probably the oldest coaching inn to be found in Scotland, the hotel dates back to 1432 and has played host to Jacobite leaders and later to Queen Victoria, who often rested at the Hotel on her way to Balmoral.
The Huntly Arms has fifty en suite bedrooms, all of which have been recently refurbished, and offering all the amenities you would expect from an hotel of this calibre. In addition most rooms offer an outlook of spectacular scenery.
Dining here really is a most enjoyable experience and is taken in the Grill Room Restaurant which overlooks the landscaped gardens and Aboyne Park. Cuisine is of the highest standard, offering a wide selection of exquisitely presented dishes from the extensive á la carte menu. To complement your meal, consider treating yourself to a fine wine, choosing from the extensive collection offered
The hotel provides a perfect base from which to explore the North East Coast of Scotland or for the more energetic, experience some of the most scenic walks in the area. It is equally well situated for visiting the many attractions of the North East Coast of Scotland, such as Balmoral Castle, Crathies Castle, Loch Kinord and the River Dean.
Perhaps the grandeur of the granite city of Aberdeen will be of interest with its lively nightlife, excellent boutiques and busy port. Maybe you’re considering the Castle Trail, taking in thirteen of the finest Gems in Scotland. For a round of golf, Aboyne has two eighteen hole Golf Courses that are open to everyone. Both Courses are set next to each other facing south towards Loch Aboyne, surrounded by spectacular scenery that is second to none in the North East Scotland.
Other places of interest during you stay could be; Cairngorm National Wildlife Park, Crathies Castle, Loch Kinord, Balmoral Castle and the Malt Whisky Trail.
