Idyllically set in four acres of natural tree-lined gardens with its abundance of wild life, nestled perfectly on the edge of the scenic Wolds, ‘The Limes’ is a privately run Victorian Country House ideal for those wishing a relaxing break in the pleasant countryside, yet only a five minute walk to the centre of Market Rasen.

This delightful hotel has all the light and airiness for which Victorian houses are renowned. The ground rooms are especially typical of the period, with high ceilings and tall windows, none more so than the Furlong bar where magnificent sunsets, watched through the curved glass windows give an additional zest to pre-dinner drinks.

All bedrooms have full en suite facilities; three being situated in the original building and the remainder in the modern wing. Every room has beautiful views over the gardens and surrounding countryside and is equipped with colour television, alarm clock radio, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hairdryer and toiletries. There is also a complimentary hospitality tray in each room.

Dining here is excellent, with an extensive menu of superbly presented dishes prepared using local produce and ingredients all accompanied by a fine selection of wines and of course, delightful ambience and attentive service.

Recreation and leisure pursuits are plentiful here with houses of great historical interest and working mills scattered across the region in which the poet Tennyson was born. From 'The Limes' medieval Lincoln is within easy reach. Antique connoisseurs will not be disappointed particularly when they see Hemswell Antique Centre - the largest in Britain - is only fifteen minutes drive away.

Golfers are spoilt for choice with the Market Rasen course on the doorstep and numerous other course nearby.

Cycling is also very popular; contrary to popular belief Lincolnshire is not completely flat and the rolling hills of the Wolds provide testimony to this, with its wealth of outstanding beauty including quaint villages of Viking and Roman origins, dotted along the famous Viking Way. 'The Limes' provides secure lock up and storage for cycles and drying facilities for clothes.

Availability: All year round, minimum stay of two nights.
